Final Training Objectives

Convene and build capacity of stakeholders on climate resilience in transport.

Target Group

Public sector officials from authorities like development authorities, town planning departments, municipal corporation, metro rail corporations, railways etc. Also, financial institutions, banking sector, financial advisory, developer sector and consultancies.

Methods

The program uses a "hands on" learning approach that makes use of group exercises and discussions as well as inputs by experts. Presentation by expert followed by group activity session to identifying existing and innovative concepts and ideas

Goal

The session aims to build capacities on climate resilience in transport. Participants should have prior professional exposure to urban mobility and/or infrastructure planning as well as basic knowledge on the topic. Participants will learn how to ensure climate resilience when planning or implementing transport projects or introducing services.

Training Modules

Seven sessions of about half a day (3 days for all modules together):

  • Introduction to climate change and urban infrastructure
  • Climate proofing of infrastructure investments
  • Climate proofing and the transport sector
  • Scoping for sustainable infrastructure investments
  • Introduction into risk assessment
  • Adaptation assessment
  • Presentation of action plans
