Municipality of Florianópolis, Brazil: Working towards an integrated public transportation system
This is a project case story within the framework of the TUMI Challenge 2018. Like many other Brazilian cities, Florianópolis faces challenges concerning traffic congestion. With an aim to transform its transportation system and mobility patterns to be less automobile-dependent and more people-
oriented, Florianópolis takes an integrated and connected approach to sustainable urban mobility. This case story gives an overview about the measures, including integrating bus operators, integrated ticketing and fare system for inclusivity, integrated information and integrating with Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).
