Disability Inclusive Public Transport

The policy brief underlines the importance of inclusive public transport to ensure people with all types of disabilities have access to education, employment, healthcare and social contacts, and break the downward spiral of dependence and poverty. It provides practical guidance to policymakers and practitioners in low-income countries in Africa and Asia to ensure public transport is accessible. Many obstacles can be overcome with simple and low-cost solutions coupled with engagement with people with disabilities to understand their needs and the application of the universal design principle.
