Join senior policy and decision makers from across Africa and international partners to agree a road map of action for the next 5 years.

Forum objectives

  • Build capacity to define good practice and prioritise the needs of pedestrians and cyclists in transport policy, planning and investment.

  • Build capacity on approaches to inclusive climate resilient transport planning

  • Encourage peer learning on inclusive policy, planning and investment for active mobility and road safety and the needs of vulnerable groups.

  • Support African government decision makers on what they can do within 5 years for the greatest positive impact for pedestrians and cyclists.

  • Seek commitment from national and city government partners across all sub-regions of Africa to sign up to a road map for walking and cycling investment - to achieve within the next five years.

  • Identify opportunities (within government and from donors and banks) for funding and committing to walking and cycling.

  • Show case available guidance and tools to support prioritisation of walking and cycling
