Rural regions in Morocco lack sufficient transport for people and goods, affecting especially the livelihoods of low-income groups such as farmers. Perishable goods often do not reach local markets in time, as there are no transport options with cooling available.
The project will introduce a shared transport system with 25 e-tricycles (including 5 with a solar cooling system) for transport of goods in El Kelaa des Sraghna and adjacent rural municipalities of the province. The energy for charging the tricycles will be generated by solar panel powered off-grid charging stations.
