Jinja Market Traffic Management Improvement Pilot

Unsafe and unpleasant conditions in the City of Jinja for pedestrians & cyclists and congestion caused by haphazard freight vehicles & parking have led to a deterioration of public life and economic activity. This has been exasperated by the Covid-19 restrictions. Mobilizing Jinja aims to demonstrate the value of Non-Motorized Transport by improving the flow of people and goods in and around Jinja‘s Central Market. By creating an eco-friendly, safe, and inclusive loading zone around Jinja‘s market through moveable bollards, parking management, and other measures, the project will enhance sustainable access as well as health and road safety.
